Why you should market yourself on social media…

In 2015, already 73 % of online adults are using social media. But what does this mean professionally for you as a freelance or employed journalist?

During this one-day course we will look at ways to create visibility for yourself and your work through different social media channels. You will familiarize yourself with the ways different social media channels work and how you should package your content in order to be seen and, most of all, spark sharing and interaction on different platforms. You will also be guided through the creation of your personal social media strategy, which forms the foundation of your social media presence. At the end of the day, you will have learnt the big pluses:

  • what you can gain out of a social media presence that you cannot by any other online activity
  • the differences between various social media platforms, understand how these platforms work and most of all, how you can navigate them for your benefit
  • what kind of content is fit for different social media platforms
  • what a social media strategy is and how you create it
  • how you can follow up and measure progress on your social media presence
